Kölsch is one of several aliases of Rune Reilly Kølsch, the Copenhagen, Denmark-based house and techno producer who came to global attention via the massive epic sax hit ‘Calabria’ in 2003. A favorite in Ibiza clubs, it was updated a few years later, credited to Enur, and topped Billboard’s U.S. club chart. After a number of years working on his own labels, Kölsch signed to Kompakt in 2010 continuing to issue classics under has many aliases. The much-revered Cologne ‐based imprint released Kölsch’s seminal LP ‘1977’ in 2013, continuing a tradition of providing ground breaking and genre–defining cuts. Kölsch’s work proved to rewrite the rulebook on techno production, setting it on a melodic, emotion-induced course.
